MOSCOW/GORKI, Moscow Region, May 5 (PRIME) -- Vadim Shvetsov, head and core owner of carmaker Sollers, has asked Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to register the company’s new projects connected with construction of engines on the territories of advanced development in Russia’s Far East, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev told reporters on Friday.
“Today, Sollers’ head made a statement and asked Dmitry Medvedev to register new projects within territories of advanced development. Unfortunately, they (Sollers) have spent too much time on coordination of documents and planning of projects in the special economic zone…and the project is losing momentum,” he said.
“We will approve the proposal and expand the area of the advanced development territory so that new projects of Sollers enter it, as they include engine production projects that are very important.”
In September 2016, joint venture Mazda Sollers signed a special investment contract with the Russian government on creation and upgrading of industrial production of engines and motor vehicles in the Primorsky Region.
